The City of Richmond is pleased to offer free tuition for a one-day hands-on Airtightness Techniques Course for qualifying builders with an active building permit in Richmond.
The workshop will give the attendees the chance to work with a wide range of air-sealing materials and get a deep understanding of how they perform and how to properly use them. The majority of the day will be spent working on a full-scale residential building mock-up; however, the group will also have the chance to discuss what an air barrier is, and how to define it on a given building project.
Workshops will be held on selected Saturdays—starting promptly at 9:00 AM and ending at 5:00 PM. Lunch is provided. Students are to dress in work clothes as the training involves installing air barriers on full-scale building section mock-ups. At the end of the workshop, students will receive a certificate of completion, and have the knowledge and practical skills needed to install air barriers that can achieve building airtightness requirements.
